Jorge Salas,...raised in Loreto, is our lead guide for many of the trips, and a parnter in our local outfitting company, Loreto Kayak Tours. In 1997 he graduated from R.A.R.E., a natural history training institute, and went on to receive a Baja Guide Scholarship from the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). He has taught kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, and natural history and is highly trained in all aspects of trip leadership. Jorge’s prefessional and friendly attitude always keeps us smiling.

Nadia Beaulieu... came to work for us in 1999 as a highly recommended guide from a Canadian paddling company. We’ve found that Nadia has the many skills needed to offer guests a safe, fun, and rewarding tour along the coast of Baja. Plant life of the peninsula and a general overview of the natural history are Nadia’s fortes as she teaches you about the region. In the summer season she works as chef for a Canadian fishing lodge. Guests consitently praise the excellent meals on tour with Nadia!

Aracely Rojas...a new spark is added to our guide team with Aracely. Her interest is in eco-tourism and conservation, and in doing her best to make sure folks have a great time on the tours. She is also a graduate of the NOLS Mexican Educators course, speaks fluent english, loves working with kids in nature, and is finishing up her thesis in the marine biology department in La Paz. Aracely is a fun addition to any group.

Antonio Hernandez .... a local, born and raised in Loreto is our newest rising star. We have had a great time this past season watching Antonio take to the water and the guiding life. Excelling in sports and studying sports education, he has transfered his skills to the coast and mountains of his hometown, and now works as full assistant on kayak and bike tours. Honing his english for a future lead guide position his enthusiasm is inspiring and his and sense of humor is infectious.

Santiago Berrueta Villa... will be our newest addition in 2006. With his background in marine biology, conservation study, tour leader, and kayaking for organizations in mainland Mexico, we’re sure he will slip right into our assistant guiding position in the fall. Santiago is excited to work in Baja and the Gulf of California this year, and with his skills in logistics and planning, will be a welcome addition to the team.

Jesus (Chuy) Baeza... is the backbone of our in-town staff. Chuy works as logistics planner, driver, and on the many details around our equipment area.

Trudi Angell...has been paddling and exploring the coast of Baja since 1976. Now living in Loreto, Trudi leads a few kayak trips each season and most of the mountain pack trips. Her main focus since 1999 has been riding mules with her daughter, Olivia, along the length of the Baja peninsula following the historical missionary routes of the El Camino Real.
